Norman A. Inkpen Jr. ’70 Receives Robert L. Payton Award for Voluntary Service

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – (June 8, 2022) – Kutztown University alumnus Norman A. Inkpen Jr. ’70 was presented the Robert L. Payton Award for Voluntary Service at the Council for Advancement & Support of Education (CASE) District II Individual Achievement Awards Celebration Ceremony on June 7.
Inkpen, seeing how his life was transformed by Kutztown University, is dedicated to giving back and paying it forward to ensure Kutztown University students have every chance to graduate and create the lives they envision for themselves. With this in mind, he is intent on building a “culture of philanthropy” throughout campus.
He has served on the Kutztown University Foundation’s Board of Directors since 2015. In 2017, he accepted the role of Chair of the Foundation’s Campaign Committee. Inkpen has generously given to the University for over 30 years and most recently established two endowed scholarships: one to benefit KU’s diverse student population and the other to assist with student retention.
“I am delighted that Norman is being honored for his commitment to helping current and future KU students fulfill their educational dreams,” said Alex Ogeka, executive director of the KU foundation. “He is always one of the first to step up to provide his time, talent, and treasure to support the University and the Foundation.”
Inkpen lives in Wolfeboro, N.H., with his wife Joy.
