Together, We’re Golden: The Campaign for Kutztown University aims to raise $40,000,000

KUTZTOWN, Pa. – (October 4, 2021) – The Kutztown University Foundation unveiled Together, We’re Golden: The Campaign for Kutztown University on Saturday, October 2.

The campaign, the largest in the University’s history, has two goals: raise $40,000,000 to create scholarships, bolster emergency funds, and enhance student experiences, and strengthen KU’s network by engaging with alumni and friends for 40,000 hours.

“Golden Bears have determination and dreams of making the world a better place,” said Alex Ogeka, Executive Director of the Kutztown University Foundation.  “However, many students and potential students cannot afford to make those dreams a reality.  Together, We’re Golden will help ensure KU students earn their degrees and make their mark on the world.”

At Saturday’s event, Ogeka announced that the campaign is 84% to its financial goal, with $33,739,541 raised to date.

The engagement goal has already been surpassed, with 42,791 hours reported.

“Strengthening our network of alumni and friends is crucial to the university’s future,” said Ogeka.  Engaged alumni and volunteers are a vital part of our culture of philanthropy.  In order to further strengthen our Golden Bear network, we are adding an additional goal of 10,000 engagement hours per year for the duration of the campaign.”
