Donor Spotlight: Mike & Jennifer Rush ’99
Jenn (Wolfgang) Rush ’99 says that her four years at Kutztown University were some of the best of her life. She made lifelong friends, played four years of field hockey, and received an excellent education.
Shortly after her graduation, Jenn made the decision to begin donating to her alma mater. “It was always important to my family then and now to give back,” she said. “Many times, I’ve heard to never forget where you came from. Athletics were such a big part of my life, and I learned so much from playing on a team. These were the lessons that had the greatest impact on my future. Giving back to support these memories and remembering where I can from was always my vision.”
Recently, Jenn’s husband, Mike, suggested that the family create an endowed scholarship to leave a lasting legacy for KU Athletics.
“If we as a family can help a student-athlete graduate and pursue a career because of an athletic scholarship, it is well-deserved and certainly rewarding on our part,” said Jenn. “For some students, it is athletics that motivates them to finish their academic careers while building strength and conviction.”
For others considering making a gift the KU Athletics, Jenn says, “Do it! It’s one of the best ways I know to support where you came from. The student scholarship recipients are always so gracious in expressing their thanks. It’s a meaningful experience for sure and a ‘win-win’ for both the donor and the recipient.”
