Donor Spotlight: Eisenhuth’s Enduring Impact

Eisenhuths

Few embody the spirit of Kutztown University quite like Ned Eisenhuth ’78 and his wife, Nanette. Their deep connection to KU, from lifelong friendships to philanthropic contributions, has helped shape the university in countless ways. Their generosity is driven by gratitude for the experiences KU provided them and a commitment to ensuring future students have the same opportunities.

“It’s the People”

When asked what makes KU special, they immediately answered: “It’s the people.” From Homecoming gatherings to alumni council service, the relationships they’ve built are at the core of their Kutztown experience. “We have so many friends we see at events,” Nanette shared. “Some from New Jersey, Florida… and we’re always meeting new people through different affairs.” Their ongoing involvement keeps them connected to the ever-growing KU family.

Memorable Moments & Meaningful Connections

The Eisenhuths cherish many fond memories of KU. Ned recalls being captivated by Dr. Valuska, a professor whose deep knowledge of the Civil War left a lasting impression. Another highlight was participating in Dr. Hawkinson’s robing ceremony—an experience that reinforced their appreciation for KU’s traditions. They also vividly remember attending the Hall of Fame induction for Andre Reed, a moment that celebrated athletic excellence and strengthened their bond with fellow alumni.

A Family Tradition of Giving

Their connection to KU deepened when their son, Kent, pursued a Communication Design degree at Kutztown. Inspired by his success, Ned ’78 and Nanette decided to give back in a meaningful way. They established scholarships supporting students in cross country, track, and communication design—fields close to their hearts as parents and educators. “Kent got a great education,” Ned said. “Best bang for your buck.” Their goal is to help future students achieve their dreams, just as their son did.

A Lasting Legacy

For the Eisenhuths, giving back isn’t just about financial support—it’s about ensuring that future generations of KU students can thrive. “We had great experiences at Kutztown, and we want others to have the same,” Ned said. They believe continued alumni support strengthens KU’s reputation and attracts future students. “The better you make the school look, the more people you might get to come into it.”

Their message to fellow alumni is simple yet powerful: “Keep on giving. We’re investing in the future, helping students reach their goals.” Their dedication inspires others, ensuring that the legacy of generosity and community at Kutztown University continues for generations.
